pocket shrine "Seth-style" for PaperArtsy

Hello everyone, today I am on the PaperArtsy blog sharing a folded pocket shrine I created using the newest Seth Apter Stamp Release for PaperArtsy. I was thrilled to receive the three new Seth Apter stamps from PA HQ. Seth's designs never disappoint; and these newest stamps are some of my favorites! It's definitely worth checking out Seth's PaperArtsy Release Blog for these three new sets, it offers insight into the designs as well as inspiration from the designer himself!

Seth's stamp designs are so perfect for incorporating into backgrounds and creating mixed media abstract art. For this project I wanted to create something meaningful that allowed a few of the designs to become focal points. I decided to make a pocket shrine, combining my love for religious art with Seth's unique grungy, layered style.

I share a special technique I used to easily create a beautiful three dimensional frame from one of the stamp designs, as well as many detail photos from the piece. I would love if if you could stop by and check it out! Here are a couple other sneak peeks:

I love the way the project turned out. I have so many ideas for using these new stamp sets from PaperArtsy, and look forward to sharing more! I think I might try my hand at making some of the "bits" Seth shares on the blog. There are so many possibilities! If you are interested in grabbing any of the newest stamp sets, there is a list of stockists on the PaperArtsy site where you can find one that's located in your area. If you'd like to see the entire post, hop over to the PaperArtsy blog here. Hopefully you are inspired to get creative.

I'm so happy you stopped by,

wise moon vignette for PaperArtsy

Hi everyone, today I am on the PaperArtsy blog sharing a vignette box that I created for their "with 3 things" feature. This feature on the PaperArtsy Blog is where 3 identical items are sent to 3 members of the PaperArtsy Blogging team. Typically we will receive a stamp, a stencil and a colour product. We have no clue what PaperArtsy HQ is going to send, the whole idea of this challenge is to do something crafty in our personal style with these 3 items.

I was sent PaperArtsy Scrapcosy Stamp Set 24 (ESC24), PaperArtsy Stencil 191 by Scrapcosy (PS191) and PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic in A Bit Fishy (FF208). At first glance, I knew that I wanted to create a dimensional piece with the three items. I found an old wooden box that was the perfect size to create my Wise Moon Vignette.

It is always a fun challenge to create with the three items that are selected by PaperArtsy headquarters, especially seeing the variety in project type that each blogger creates with the exact same items. You can find all the details for this project, and more pictures, over on the PaperArtsy blog, here.

I hope you have a creative day,
Ann

holiday ornament trio for PaperArtsy

Hi everyone, today I am over on the PaperArtsy Blog sharing a trio of Christmas ornamnets I made for the 'With 3 Things' challenge.

I received the PaperArtsy Eclectica Kay Carley Stamp Set 11 (EKC11), PaperArtsy Stencil 162 by Kay Carley (PS162) and two beautiful PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic paints Verdigris (FF191) and Zinc (FF235). These products gave me a number of ideas for the upcoming Christmas Season. I am sharing a trio of Christmas ornaments I made. All the details are over on the PaperArtsy blog here.

I think these beautiful ornaments will make wonderful gifts this holiday season. I may even keep one for myself to hang on my tree! You could easily change the color palette by simply choosing different PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paints. PaperArtsy has a nice selection of holiday stamps and stencils to choose from if you would like to make varying styles as well.

I'd love it if you could stop over to the PaperArtsy Blog and check it out.

Thanks for dropping by,
Ann

art "zine" booklet for PaperArtsy

Hi everyone, I am so excited to be over on the PaperArtsy Blog today sharing an art booklet I created with the newest Seth Apter Minis for PaperArtsy. The base for the booklet was a 14 page "zine" template, that when folded created an ATC sized booklet.

Using art supplies to make a Zine is an easy way to have some fun and experiment with different techniques. Since it is simply made with a single sheet of paper, there is not a lot of pressure or expectations for a masterpiece. I have always found that some of my favorite work has been the result of enjoying the process and letting my creativity express itself. This was definitely the case when I created this art "zine" with the new Seth Apter mini stamps. You can find all the details, as well as a bunch of pictures over on the PaperArtsy Blog here.

I am thrilled with how the booklet turned out. This will be a wonderful reference for inspiration and ideas when I use these mini stamps in my art.

I hope that maybe this will inspire you to get out some of your favorite PaperArtsy stamps and play, perhaps even grab a few of Seth's new mini stamps, they are all pretty amazing! You can find all the details for this release of Seth's mini stamps on the PaperArtsy blog here. The new stamps are available worldwide at a PaperArtsy stockist near you.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog, hope you have a creative day!

spools of fish for PaperArtsy

Hi everyone, I am on the PaperArtsy Blog sharing this fun project I have been working on using some of Kate Crane's stamps.

I had so much fun using watercolor pencils to add color to these whimsical fish designs by Kate Crane for PaperArtsy and then exploring how different textiles can be dyed using PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paints in ocean colors, to create the most amazing substrates to hold all of the fishies.

I really enjoyed imagining this project. When I was first considering a project I kept thinking of a school/spool connection and this idea was born. There are additional fish stamps that Kate Crane has designed for her PaperArtsy line, it would be fun to incorporate those fish (or any other little creatures as well). I would love for you to tie k out the blog to see all the details, you can find it here.

Wishing you a creative day,
Ann

nature's treasures box for PaperArtsy

Hi everyone, I am so excited to share this nature's treasures box that I created for PaperArtsy. The current topic over on PaperArtsy blog is a focus on all things Alison Bomber. If you are not familiar with her I recommend you hop over and check out the introduction post where Alison gives a bit of her background. I will say that Alison has a gorgeous collection of stamp designs, which includes both words and illustrations. I have always been drawn to her gorgeous botanical illustration stamps. For this project I chose to focus on Eclectica Alison Bomber Set 25 (EAB25) Acorn Edition, taking advantage of the tie-in to Autumn as well as our current PaperArtsy blog theme: nature.

You can find all the details on how I created this upcycled cigar box into a treasure trove over on the PaperArtsy blog, including one of my favorite details, the stamped seal closure. I'd love to have you check it out!
Take care and thank you so much for stopping by today.

vintage PaperArtsy

Hi everyone, the current topic over at the PaperArtsy blog is Vintage PaperArtsy stamps. This topic had me thinking contemporary ways to use these incredible vintage style images.

I decided I would try my hand at making a modern jewelry piece with resin; a clean and simple design that will allow the image to be the main focus. I learned a lot with this project, especially when it came to stamping on non-porous surfaces. While the process was definitely a struggle for me, the modern filmstrip jewelry pieces turned out better than I had hoped, definitely showcasing the vintage stamped image in a contemporary light.

I would love for you to visit the PaperArtsy blog to check out my process and see the different pieces that I created. You can read the blog here.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope that maybe this will inspire you to try something new with your own vintage stamps, or maybe even with a few new ones. I love the different collections available from PaperArtsy, there is a style to fit any need.
